One of our recent projects has two screw compressors used in a cascade heat pump system:

1st stage
– compressor used: ES3-L240
– refrigerant: R134a
– evaporation temperature: 5°C
– condensing temperature: 60°C

2nd stage
– compressor used: RS3-H390
– refrigerant used: R1233zd(E)
– evaporation temperature: 50°C
– condensing temperature: 130°C
– maximum power output of system: 580 kW

Cascade systems are ideal for high-temperature heating systems (or hot water requirements) with a low-temperature source, such as air systems in colder climates. They are also ideal for applications requiring two levels of hot water temperature or simultaneous cooling and domestic hot water production. (Ex: hotels, hospitals, etc.).

Heat pumps are nowadays one of the key technologies that ensures lower consumption of gas, oil or electricity, lowering the operating costs of the system. CO2 emissions are also reduced, offering customers a totally eco-friendly approach.
